It might sound crazy, but there are really some great reasons we've made this decision.
For starters, we have Nigerian Dwarf goats we took in from my inlaws.

We decided the golf course cart barn could be converted fairly easily to a goat barn. It already has water and electric, and we can fence in the adjoining grass to make a nice field for them.

Next, my husband flips houses and has a lot of gear to store. Not to mention his many toys- 4 wheelers, motorcycles... The course has a maintenance building complete with electric, heat, and air compression hoses run throughout it, with the potential of being one dreamy man cave.

We toured every house with acreage for sale in the county, and none of them had the outbuildings, acreage and living space we needed.
The existing clubhouse is a sound structure of approximately 1100 square feet with a finished walk out basement and lovely views overlooking the course.

In the end, after crunching the numbers we realized we would be all in for less or equal to the cost of moving to one of the properties we toured, and none of them held a candle to the gorgeous land at the golf course.

We're a little intimidated by the upkeep of the land, but based on all of the above, we decided to go for it. Now comes the big challenge of turning a golf course into a home.
